Senior Paediatric Nurse - Band 6 - Guernsey - Full Time - Permanent
The Client
This facility is modern and exceptionally well-equipped. The Paediatric ward provides family centered care for children and young people from 0-18 yrs. The unit is forward thinking, progressive and innovative and practices evidence based multidisciplinary care in a relaxed and caring environment. All the requirements of sick and injured children are catered for along with providing specialist care in the following areas ENT, Medical, Surgical, Oncology and Cystic Fibrosis, with some ventilated patients
Job responsibilities
The successful paediatric nurse will work a rota system to provide all aspects of nursing care to children and neonates in line with the ward philosophy.
There will be a requirement to provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff and may involve running the ward/unit in the absence of the Nurse Team Lead.
Job Requirements
*Current Registration with NMC children’s branch or eligible
*RSCN Registered Sick Children’s Nurse or RN (Child Branch)
*Recognised Teaching Qualification
*2 years post qualification experience with at least one year of nursing neonates
Desirable criteria
*European Paediatric Advanced Life Support Course
*Recognised Neonatal Nursing Qualification
*European Paediatric Advanced Life Support Course
*Neonatal Advanced Life Support Course

*Current NHS rates
*Retention Bonus of £1000 after 1 year
*Additional £757 each Feb
*Nurses in specialist areas receive £3500 after 2 years of service.
