Job Description:
Premier London Hospital is looking for a Staff Nurse with at least 2 years adult surgical experience to join their team adding their skills, passion for their work and empathy for their clients to this thriving work environment.
General:
• Assessing, Planning, and Implementing and delivering Nursing Care.
• Demonstrating good Clinical practice, and ensure standards are met.
• Accountability of own actions
• Promote team working
• Efficient use of available resources
• Respect and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
• Ensure equipment is in good working order
• Maintain accurate patient records of patient care
• Provide patients and families with information regarding the care and management of their condition
• Involvement in projects as required - Link nurse responsibilities
• Responsible for the control storage and administration of drugs
• Time management – punctuality, and completion of tasks given by senior nurses.
• Deputise in the absence of senior staff providing management and leadership in her absence.
• Participate in Auditing process of Clinical care given.
• Liaison with Consultants, staff, patients, visitors.
• Liaison with other internal departments and external resources.
• Early recognition of clinical problems and report or take appropriate action.
• Deals with enquiries and refer as necessary
• Demonstrate tact and sensitivity
• Handle complaints and refer as appropriate
• Appreciate and adapt to Cultural needs.
• Dealing with discrepancies on supply issues.
• Support junior staff and assist with training.
• Efficient and professional in presenting the Hospital.
• Responsibility of own practice in accordance of NMC guidelines and Hospital policies/ protocols.
• Plan and monitor staff needs
• Prevent self risks and to other staff and patients within the unit.
• Good communication skills
• Awareness of Budget issues
• Capture of patient revenues
• Teaching and mentoring
• Competent in use of equipment
• Evidence of professional and personal development
• Customer care skills.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse Level 1 NMC registrations and PREP 2 years post registration Mentorship desirable but not essential Health and safety training Manual Handling
Experience:
Wound management desirable Knowledge of general Surgical and Surgical Oncology essential Neurological knowledge desirable
